Kitesurfing Lessons

So your wondering whether to take kitesurfing lessons. your probably thinking, will I enjoy it? Am I fit and strong enough? Can I afford it? Along with a load of other questions. Hopefully I can answer some of your questions right now and help you on your way to becoming a member of the kitesurfing community...we'd love to welcome you in!

As to whether you'll enjoy kitesurfing, I can say with pretty much 100% assurance...yes, yes...yes! The true beauty of kitesurfing is that you can push it as far and as hard as you like, or simply cruise up and down enjoying the freedom and exhilaration that being at one with the ocean and the wind provides. Sure, like any sport there will be times of frustration, but these are more than balanced by the excitement of overcoming challenges and mastering that next trick or move.

You do not have to be super fit or super strong to kitesurf (this is a question often asked by the ladies). Kitesurfing does not require a lot of upper body strength but rather is an all over body workout that will keep you trim without requiring you to be some sort of superhuman. Of course, if you want to really push it then kitesurfing can provide all the exercise you need. I've seen 90 year olds out kitesurfing with their 9 year olds grandsons, fat, thin, tall and short people all on the ocean having the times of their lives.

Kitesurfing can be a fairly expensive sport but to start with as a beginner I wouldn't recommend spending a fortune on the latest kit. To begin with your equipment is likely to take a pounding as you bounce it off the beach and you don't want to do this with your brand new shiny kite. The second hand market is vibrant and a great source of affordable but entirely usable kit and it is here that you should look for your first set of equipment.
